AMPHITHEATRE monumental entrance

On the Southern side, in a private court yard, there are three impressive pillars on parallelepiped basements, which are situated 3 metres from each other: they are well preserved, made of big overlapping blocks and rustic ashlars.

One of them is reclined downstream, probably because of an earthquake around the year One Thousand. There are some other remains all around: corridors, fragments of steps, concrete walls, which clearly indicate that this was one of the monumental entrances to the amphitheatre.
